Getting a Library Card

Escanaba Public Library cards are free to residents of the library’s legal service area, which includes the City of Escanaba and 11 Delta County Townships.

Library patrons outside the service area may purchase a card for $35.00 annually per family or per household. This includes City of Gladstone, Brampton Township, Escanaba Townships and Masonville Township and anyone outside of Delta County. Individuals who own property but do not live within the service area may obtain a card by presenting a current property tax receipt.

To register for a card, bring one of the following forms of identification to the checkout desk at the library:

  • Michigan Drivers License
  • Michigan Identification Card
  • Current Vehicle Registration
  • Check book with printed name and address
  • Rental Lease
  • Utility Bill
  • Property Tax Bill
  • Credit Card Statement

If you are under 18 and do not have identification, a parent or legal guardian with identification must accompany you to countersign the application.
