Poetry Event-Postponed due to the weather- to Wednesday, April 10

Kick Off National Poetry Month-- Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. 

Due to the weather condition, this event has been postponed to Wednesday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m.

JOIN US for a lively evening with three Upper Peninsula poets, Lisa Fosmo, Jillena Rose, and M. Kelly Peach. These poets will be sharing work from their books.       

About the Poets--

Lisa Fosmo lives along the shore of Lake Michigan in Escanaba. Lisa has been published in numerous journals and magazines, and anthologies of note. She is the author of a full-length collection of poetry, Mercy is a Bright Darkness, published by Golden Dragonfly Press and available on Amazon and at Canterbury  bookstore. Lisa is the current Vice President of the UP Laureate Foundation.

Jillena Rose earned her MFA in poetry from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina in 2006. Jillena’s poems have appeared in Inch, Bijou Poetry Review, Third Wednesday, The Superior Poetry Café Anthology, and Ted Kooser’s American Life in Poetry.  She was a finalist for the position of Poet Laureate of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2015. Her book, Light as Sparrows, was published in 2015, Aldrich Press.

M. Kelly Peach lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When he is not facilitating Ink Society meetings for a local writer’s group, he is hiking, reading, collecting books, and baking. His author's website is www.mkellypeach.com. He has work forthcoming in Suicid(al)iens, Vital Minutiae Quarterly, U.P. Reader #8, and Lumina Journal.

No registration is required. Everyone is welcome.

The event will be held in the Escanaba Public Library.
