Meet our new Youth Programs & Community Engagement Specialist!

Brianna Ecklid-LaVigne believes that there is no such thing as “bored”. She brings this passion for curiosity and problem-solving with her as she embarks on her new adventure as the Youth Programs & Community Engagement Specialist. With a background in non-profit, private and municipal careers, her experience is as varied as her music taste.

In her new role, she is focused on making the Youth and Children’s section of the library a true community hub. By expanding teen and tween programming, and leaning into the already robust children’s programming, she hopes to make the library a warm, fun and creative place for anyone who walks in the doors. As a former library kid, she understands the incredible impact a welcoming space and good book can have, and as a person with learning disabilities and who is neurodivergent, she acknowledges the many different ways people engage with books and is passionate about finding the right book for the right person.

Brianna lives in Gladstone with her husband, daughter and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys fiber arts, writing, playing video games with her family, asking far too many questions, and, of course, reading as many books as possible.
